Job Description:
The Repairman is responsible for informing the Supervisor of potential problems with the equipment, supplies and parts after an inspection is made or is noted during repairs. Works with other Repairmen on maintaining the equipment and is able to perform all duties within the scope of his job. Skills needed include: blueprint reading, basic millwrighting and basic welding/metal cutting.
Works at the tinsmith trade as a skilled tradesman.
Generally works to templates in the cutting, shaping, soldering and assembling of sheet metal and structural shapes.
Works on the building of new machines as well as repair work.
Is required to lay out and produce complex jobs.
Is required to work on the erection or installation of equipment and rigging operators.
Is required to size up any sheet metal job and make own layout and sketches.
Is fully proficient as a structural welder and tacks or stitch welds own work.
Sets up, adjusts, and operates electric welding machine, wire welding machine cutting torch and related welding equipment.
Required to fit, tack and weld metal patches for repairing equipment.
To be successful in this position, you must have:
3+ years of experience, preferably in an industrial plant environment.
Your own tools and hand tools related to the welding trade.
Familiarity with CNC equipment, Flashcut Program.
A team environment attitude.
