Maintenance Mechanic

**Rate of Pay:**

Minimum $21.14 plus 7 1/4%25%20shift premium = $22.67

**Position Summary:**

Under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager repairs, installs, adjusts, monitors, and maintains building HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical systems and performs skilled maintenance and repair tasks of the hospital building systems.

**Required:**

+ High school diploma or equivalent required.

+ Two years of hospital related building systems maintenance experience or five years of general building system maintenance experience.

+ Must possess valid State of Michigan Operators license

+ Must meet approval by insurance carrier to drive hospital vehicles

**Preferred:**

+ 4th class power engineering certification from NIULPE (National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers, Inc.) or has Third Class Stationary Engineer, licensed/registered by the State of Michigan

+ Certification as a Health Care Mechanic or Health Care Engineer, as accredited by MECH or the Healthcare Facilities Alliance or similar agency.

+ Previous experience in HVAC/R systems maintenance in a health care setting.

+ Previous experience working alone, without assistance.
