Welder - Arc and Gas Welding Job Description We are seeking a skilled welder specializing in arc and gas welding for a variety of metals and their alloys. This role involves working on commercial and military fabrications with critical safety and load requirements. The position requires planning, layout, and execution of diversified fabrication work, as well as certification to qualified procedures by specified codes. Responsibilities Perform arc and gas welding on various metals and alloys, excluding all-position welding. Work on commercial and military fabrications with critical safety and load requirements. Plan, layout, and execute diversified fabrication work. Obtain certification to qualified procedures by Mil-STD 248, ASME Section IX, or other specified codes. Determine proper machine settings, gas, and filler selections for specific base metal and process applications. Operate the ring roller and associated equipment as required. Work from specifications, drawings, prints, and welding symbols. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor in the same salary grade or below. Essential Skills 1 year of prior welding experience. Technical degree in welding. Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and welding symbols. Certification to qualified procedures as per Mil-STD 248, ASME Section IX, or other specified codes. Additional Skills & Qualifications A vocational or high school education or equivalent is required. On-the-job training to learn trade techniques and procedures. Work Environment The work environment includes an open production floor with excellent lighting. It is a very clean and quiet space, providing a conducive atmosphere for focused work. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.62 - $37.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
