DESCRIPTION The Bridge Project Manager is responsible for managing projects along with staff of engineering professionals involving design and inspection. The selected candidate will perform technical oversight, staff management, contract management, technical and cost proposal development, project performance and client management for targeted Eastern Pennsylvania (including Philadelphia and Allentown region) area clients. Be part of a dynamic team responsible for supporting the structural engineering practice currently servicing our Eastern PA clients (state, county, and municipal). Manage structural engineering projects for transportation, rail and other clients. Support business development activities; participate in client based and industry related organizations; strategy and proposal development Serve as Task Lead or Project Manager and provide technical guidance to less experienced staff PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, or similar degree. Master's degree preferred. 15+ years of bridge related design and inspection experience and 5+ years of Project Management experience. Experience with road and rail bridge design including rehabilitation, finite element analysis, and load rating analysis. Familiarity with bridge inspection practices; PennDOT Bridge Inspection experience and Certified Bridge Safety Inspector certification a plus. Pennsylvania Professional Engineer (PE) license required within 6 months of start date. New Jersey, New York, Connecticut or Massachusetts registration is a plus. Project management experience with PennDOT, City of Philadelphia, DRPA, and SEPTA preferred. Familiarity with design standards for these clients is also preferred. Management of projects involving multiple disciplines such as roadway, drainage, geotechnical, environmental, etc.; and experience supervising the execution, financial performance, and quality assurance of multiple simultaneous projects is desired. Strong all-around theoretical knowledge of structural engineering principles Strong people skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment Ability and willingness to help lead proposal efforts Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationship with clients and consultant partners. An understanding of AASHTO LRFD design and PennDOT design manuals, standards and design programs is required. Complex structural analysis software such as Midas, BrD/BrR and CSi Bridge a plus. COMPENSATION The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $180,000. The actual salary offered will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate, and relative to salary ranges in the offering office and region.
