DESCRIPTION Michael Baker's Baltimore office has experienced substantial growth and is expanding its national bridge practice. To support this growth, we are seeking an Entry level Bridge/Structural Engineer who will complete technical work and ensure technical excellence in the Bridge Department. This team member will collaborate with project engineers and senior project managers to deliver high-quality engineering services. This position will be in office in Baltimore, MD. The chosen candidate is expected to be physically located in the Baltimore, MD area. The Entry Level Bridge/Structural Engineer (EIT) will have the opportunity to join a dedicated group of individuals to help deliver important projects as follows: Perform structural analysis and prepare design calculations for all types of bridges and transportation structures Develop or assist in developing contract drawings and study reports Perform Bridge Inspections and prepare bridge inspection reports Perform load rating Collaborate with inter-disciplinary design team (highway, traffic, civil, planning, etc.) to support a diverse range of projects PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, with a focus on bridges or structures, from an ABET Accredited University or equivalent 1-3 years' experience designing bridges and transportation structures is preferred EIT or ability to acquire within 6 months required Strong technical and communication skills with a dedication to quality Computer skills desired include Bridge Design Software, Microsoft Office, Computer Aided Drafting (Microstation preferred). Basic knowledge of applicable design codes and standards COMPENSATION The estimated compensation range for this position is $62,000 to $90,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation depends on factors such as education, qualifications, experience, abilities, and physical work location.
