Forklift Operator Job Description We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our team in a dynamic brick manufacturing environment. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our production processes by efficiently handling and transporting materials. Responsibilities Load delivery trucks in a safe and timely manner. Bring cubed brick from storage yard to staging area for blending. Set brick cubes on the conveyor for movement to the brick handlers. Arrange different types of bricks in proper order for blending. Continue bringing bricks in as they are used in the blend. Keep records of the amount of each type of brick used for repackaging jobs. Operate numerous hand and foot-controlled levers. Follow supervision directives regarding brick usage and quantities. Essential Skills Previous forklift experience. Self-motivation with good time management. Attention to detail and troubleshooting ability. Ability to operate hand and foot-controlled levers. Additional Skills & Qualifications 3-5 years of sit-down forklift experience. Material handling experience, preferably in the building products industry. Ability to pass qualification testing for forklift operation. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment consists of a Monday-Friday shift from 8am-4pm, with exposure to outdoor elements such as rain, snow, or clear skies. The team size ranges from 50-60 people, including office and production employees, and about 5-8 forklift operators. Dress code requires closed-toed leather work boots, jeans, and a t-shirt suitable for the weather. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of ADEL, Iowa. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.77 - $22.89/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
