Electrical Power Design Engineer Job Description

Performs a variety of engineering work in planning and design of products, tools, machines and other electrically functioning equipment. Works closely with other engineering disciplines to increase production quality, efficiency, or volume.

Electrical Power Design Engineer Job Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

Project Management and Design Lead of new RELL Power products

Technical Lead and support staff on existing RELL Power Products

Develop proposals with risk analysis on potential new products

Participate in product re and engineering meetings

Designs and develops switching power supplies and ultracapacitor based modules

PCB Design and layout: Experience in Cadence OrCad/Allegro PCB Designer is a plus

Schedules work to meet completion dates and technical specifications

Res other engineers progress and evaluates results of their work

Fluency in technologies and application domain

Able and willing to produce complete, accurate, readable Electrical schematics per industry standards

Some traveling to customer locations for installation, testing, and troubleshooting

Mentor and develop younger engineers in design and critical thinking

Must be authorized to work in the US.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Leading Lower-Level Electrical Engineers and CAD Drafters

Qualification Requirements:

Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to focus efforts, overcome obstacles and complete key objectives

Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience or master's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience

Previous design experience in the following is desirable:

Energy storage, power generation, renewable energy, power conversion.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Working Environment:

On-site Office/Lab

Pay Range: $100,000 to 125,000 plus incentive
