Electrician/Instrumentation Technician Job Description Join our team as an Electrician/Instrumentation Technician, where you will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining industrial electrical systems and components. You will work with various electrical equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities Install new lighting circuitry, fixtures, outlets, switches, relays, circuit breakers, power disconnects, and circuit panels. Replace or install various industrial electrical components such as transformers, motors, and devices operating from low to 600 volts. Test, troubleshoot, locate, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on industrial electrical systems using appropriate testing equipment. Repair and replace defective parts in motors, generators, storage batteries, solar-generating equipment, and other industrial electrical fixtures. Perform electrical and electrical estimating for new construction projects. Conduct preventive maintenance and new installations on electrical systems, including valves, compressors, pump appliances, and HVAC controls. Disconnect electrical sources (up to 600 volts) using lockout/tag-out procedures and current OSHA requirements; reconnect and operate equipment for maintenance purposes. Bend and install conduits, wires, pull boxes, switchboards, and switches for additions, extensions, or alterations in electrical systems. Modify motor control equipment circuits, plan, lay out, and wire work, and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Schedule and coordinate work with other departments and contractors as needed. Plan and lay out jobs from blueprints, drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions, and maintain records of modifications made to systems. Respond to emergency situations as necessary. Perform related duties as assigned. Essential Skills Instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical aptitude. Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the maintenance, installation, and repair of industrial electrical equipment. Understanding of local and national electrical codes and related safety precautions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with wastewater treatment plant electrical systems is preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Work Environment The position is based in Indio, CA, where you will work in a dynamic environment servicing industrial electrical systems. Safety is a priority, and adherence to OSHA standards is required. You will collaborate with other departments and contractors to ensure efficient operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Indio, California. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
