HVAC Residential Service/Install Technician Job Description We are seeking an experienced HVAC Residential Service/Install Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for installing HVAC units and boiler systems for in-floor heating in new construction and remodel projects, as well as performing rough-ins. This role also involves servicing and troubleshooting units. The position is focused on high-end home markets, and we seek candidates with over five years of experience in the field. Responsibilities Install HVAC units for new construction and remodels, including rough-ins. Install boiler systems for in-floor heating. Create layouts and equipment lists for ordering materials for installation and final inspection. Train customers on HVAC systems. Troubleshoot HVAC units to identify and resolve malfunctions. Build rapport with homeowners and deliver excellent customer service. Conduct thorough evaluations of HVAC systems with customers, presenting multiple options to meet their needs. Educate homeowners on necessary services and the reasons for them before starting work. Prioritize safety in all work activities. Test pipe, tubing joints, and connections for leaks using appropriate methods. Test electrical circuits and components for continuity using electrical test equipment. Repair and replace defective equipment, components, and wiring. Discuss heating or cooling system malfunctions with clients to confirm issues and verify repairs. Maintain detailed notes of work before, during, and after completion. Review invoices with customers and collect payments. Essential Skills Expertise in HVAC service, installation, repair, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of boiler systems, electrical, and mechanical field service. Proficient in customer service and blueprint/schematic reading. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical information. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Additional Skills & Qualifications HVAC Technical College preferred, but not required. Insurable driving record. EPA II License required. Five years of related experience and/or training. Competency Card for Minneapolis or St. Paul is a plus. Willingness to attend additional industry training as required. Why Work Here?
