RESPONSIBILITIES Lead bridge inspections, coordinate fieldwork, and evaluate bridge conditions Write/review reports, identify maintenance needs, and develop repair recommendations Ensure compliance with NBIS and other regulations, oversee inspection assistants, and coordinate traffic control Attend client meetings, and mentor inspection team members Use necessary tools and equipment for bridge evaluations, travel 20-30% within MD, VA, and PA Prepare studies, construction documents, reports, quantities, cost estimates, and technical specifications Perform or check routine load ratings, interpret data, and prepare drawings for infrastructure projects Use CAD and Microsoft Office for design documents and reports, review shop drawings for contract compliance Coordinate with the project team to deliver projects on schedule. Develop bridge design plans and specifications, perform structural analysis and design for new and existing bridges Collaborate with project teams to integrate design solutions, ensure designs meet local, state, and federal standards Utilize engineering software for design and analysis PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or equivalent experience 4+ years of bridge design, inspection, and load rating experience Maryland P.E. preferred OR ability to obtain within 6 months of employment NBIS Qualified Bridge Inspection Team Leader Certified Bridge Safety Inspector Preferred certifications: Nonredundant Steel Tension Member and Tunnel Inspection Familiarity with AASHTO and MDOT SHA/MDTA design and construction standards preferred Familiarity with MDOT SHA and MDTA inspection coding, data and policy preferred Familiarity with AASHTOWare and other load rating software is preferred COMPENSATION The approximate compensation range for this position is $75,817 to $109,475. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
