Mechanic Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Mechanic committed to safety and excellence in maintaining plant equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance. Responsibilities Demonstrate a commitment to safety policies in all work environments and areas. Inspect plant equipment condition and operation, perform repairs and adjustments, and report findings to the Area Manager. Adhere to safety, environmental, and company policies while completing tasks and required paperwork. Complete work orders timely; install, repair, and fabricate materials out of metal; ensure availability and functioning of required items; resolve immediate safety concerns. Assemble metal pieces or repair metal component damage using heavy machinery. Perform inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on fixed and mobile equipment. Prepare and weld steel and aluminum structures, appendages, and equipment. Conduct routine inspections of plant and mobile equipment and report findings. Prepare plant reports and maintain inventory of repair supplies or equipment. Essential Skills Industrial mechanic and maintenance skills. Troubleshooting and repair capabilities. Proficiency in conveyors, PLC troubleshooting, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Minimum of three years of experience in construction, building materials, manufacturing, or industrial environment. Proficiency in hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Strong safety orientation. Preferred technical certification or degree in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position supports operations at our Quarry in Maryland, working from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with potential overtime and shift adjustments as needed. It involves maintaining, installing, and repairing a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockville, Maryland. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
