The Senior Project Manager will provide construction project management for a single major program and/or multiple projects. The incumbent will manage and coordinate facets of the procurement, design, pre-construction, bid/award, and construction of assigned program/projects. They will plan, evaluate, and maintain technical surveillance over operations required to support the construction initiatives within the program as well as its project goals and objectives. They will coordinate with pertinent public agencies during pre-construction and construction as required and coordinate with various Owner and Project staff. Duties & Responsibilities: Provide overall Project Management and lead the team in the accomplishment of project goals, company's and clients' vision, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures while ensuring positive outcomes for our clients and their construction projects. Manage the overall client relationship during all phases of all contracts. Review and monitor the contract to ensure MSI and owner are fulfilling contract requirements. Maintain an open dialogue and meet weekly with the client and its stakeholders for continuous and effective communication and to obtain a common understanding of project status, progress, and expectations. Notify client/management when problems arise and offer possible solutions. Directly or through subordinate managers or staff ensure optimal performance on contracted efforts. Execute approved plans while maintaining proper controls. Manage and report on progress relative to the established cost, schedule, and quality standards while adhering to project management standards. Provide leadership and supervision of program staff ensuring adherence to company policy/procedures. Oversee staff development, performance management, and team motivation initiatives. Convey and ensure the adoption of company policies and practices. Manage performance of contracts with subcontractors, consultants, and vendors. Create, update, and report on project budgets, invoice preparation, and project financial forecasts including variance reporting. Provide oversight of Construction Management activities including review and monitor project budgets and project schedules; review pay applications for accuracy; review change orders for reasonableness and processing; manage observation and monitoring of construction activities; manage monthly project reports to project Owner's and Stakeholders; evaluate field problems and facilitate resolutions; evaluate and prepare responses to Contractor RFI's and correspondence for the Owner; attend progress meetings; monitor and facilitate project commissioning and closeout activities; coordinate Owner delivery of related fixtures, furniture, and equipment. Provide Design Management including working with project design team to finalize and manage the design process; review all finish-related mock-ups; manage any space updates or modifications; and attend all design meetings and maintain meeting minutes to ensure contract accountability. Oversee Technology and Security Management including integration of the technology, management of the security scope, and integration of the security system into the building. Develop and manage proposals and responses for projects. Write key sections of proposals and assemble content into cohesive proposal documents and ensure all proposal materials adhere to company standards. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in architecture and fifteen (15) years of design and construction experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least eight plus (8+) years' experience as a practicing architect and eight plus (8+) years' experience managing a team involved in planning, design, or construction. Registered Architect in the State of California and active license strongly preferred. Other industry certifications such as PMP or CCM desired. Management Consulting experience strongly preferred. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent proposal development, support and writing skills. Ability to manage and develop high performing teams. Ability to implement and execute vision and goals. Ability to prioritize work and successfully meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to develop a pipeline directly or indirectly by using multiple market and customer resources. Ability to set priorities and work in a group environment or independently. Ability to be client focused and detail oriented. Ability to manage staff of different disciplines to produce results on time and within budget. Ability to work and communicate in a matrixed environment. Ability to communicate to and brief leaders. Working knowledge of Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
