Shift Operator Job Description This position is responsible for safely and effectively operating plant equipment to ensure products meet quality and quantity standards. The role involves operating equipment according to standard operating procedures and supervision instructions, completing necessary documentation accurately, adjusting equipment and process settings, inspecting and maintaining equipment for safety, and performing routine analytical testing to control the process efficiently. Responsibilities Operate plant equipment following SOPs and supervision instructions. Complete required documentation accurately and neatly. Adjust equipment and process settings to ensure production aligns with SOPs. Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure safety and proper processing. Perform routine analytical testing for process control. Complete daily shift production logs. Work closely with a small team during shifts, handling tasks collaboratively. Run fermentation processes, make necessary adjustments, complete batch records, run sterilizations, and handle product granulation. Essential Skills Experience in machine operation and quality control. Proficiency in documentation and general production. Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools. Ability to read blueprints and perform mechanical assembly. Experience in pharmaceutical, packaging, food manufacturing, fermentation, and biomedical industries. Work Environment The work environment is a bio-medical manufacturing plant involving varying temperatures from cold to hot, exposure to dust, fumes, and moderate to loud noises. Employees must adhere to basic safety precautions due to exposure to hazards or physical risks. The role involves working with heavy machinery, including driving a forklift, and requires the ability to lift, pull, carry, and pick up objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bangor, Michigan. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
