Electrical Estimator Location: Toledo, OH Job Type: Full-Time Workplace Type: On-Site We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our growing team in Toledo, Ohio. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in electrical construction estimating, strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, and a deep familiarity with estimating software such as Accubid. This individual will play a critical role in the pre-construction process by accurately interpreting project requirements, preparing cost estimates, and supporting project teams with bidding and change order processes. In this role, you will be responsible for leading estimation efforts on various projects-ranging from commercial to specialized electrical systems-ensuring all costs are captured accurately and in compliance with client requirements and industry codes. You will work closely with the Chief Estimator and other stakeholders to produce detailed proposals, coordinate with subcontractors and vendors, and assist in developing and maintaining the estimating database. Key Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate estimating efforts on large-scale and complex electrical projects. Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates based on construction documents and scope reviews. Attend pre-bid meetings and project scope reviews to assess and understand project requirements. Interpret blueprints, specifications, and related documents to develop detailed material and labor take-offs. Utilize Accubid estimating software for detailed project input, system take-offs, and assembly creation. Prepare subcontractor/vendor RFPs and evaluate incoming bids for completeness and compliance. Develop and maintain a robust estimating database including standard assemblies and reusable templates. Identify and document discrepancies or omissions in bid documents, and develop RFI questions as needed. Support project teams with change orders, value engineering, and cost control as projects progress. Contribute to proposal development by drafting detailed and persuasive bid letters. Maintain a high level of awareness of current industry costs and vendor pricing trends. Required Skills and Qualifications: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in the construction industry. Proficiency with Accubid or other estimating platforms (advanced user preferred). In-depth understanding of electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, nurse call, A/V, UPS, and generator systems. Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) . Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to assess and manage multiple bids simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail, with the ability to identify gaps and inconsistencies in construction documents. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in value engineering and pre-construction planning. Background in electrical construction or field installation is a plus. Strong vendor/subcontractor relationship management.
