Assistant Construction Manager Location: Gresham, Oregon Workplace Type: On-site Job Type: Full-time Summary: We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Construction Manager to join our dynamic construction team in Gresham, Oregon . In this role, you will support the Owner in managing a multi-year construction project focused on advanced technologies, commercial developments, mixed-use buildings, and multifamily housing. This is a critical position for ensuring that project execution aligns with timelines, budgets, safety protocols, and quality standards. As an Assistant Construction Manager, you will be involved in the full lifecycle of construction projects , from preconstruction planning and contractor coordination to site supervision and final closeout. You will monitor project progress, maintain accurate records, manage stakeholder communications, and help resolve any construction-related issues as they arise. A successful candidate will have prior field experience, a solid understanding of construction documentation and planning tools, and a passion for delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of day-to-day construction activities. Support scheduling, budgeting, and forecasting efforts throughout the project lifecycle. Coordinate subcontractors and vendors, and assist with procurement and contract documentation. Maintain detailed project records and provide regular progress updates to project leadership. Collaborate with clients, site supervisors, and construction teams to ensure alignment on deliverables. Assist in enforcing job site safety policies and compliance with all OSHA regulations. Help identify risks, troubleshoot problems, and resolve construction challenges promptly. Contribute to quality control efforts, ensuring work meets required specifications and standards. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field. Prior experience (internship or professional) in the construction industry is strongly preferred. Knowledge of multifamily or commercial construction projects is a plus. Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and organizational ability. Willingness and ability to work full-time on-site in the Portland, OR area.
