Survey Crew Chief - Civil Engineering & Land Surveying

Location: DC Metro Area - Maryland Suburbs

Industry: Land Surveying / Civil Engineering

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 (based on experience and qualifications)

Join a respected, well-established civil engineering and land surveying firm with over 60 years of success and stability in the DC Metro area. We are seeking a dependable, experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field operations for a diverse range of projects throughout Montgomery, Prince George's, and Anne Arundel Counties.

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role with a strong, supportive team, where you'll work on meaningful projects that shape local communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead survey crew operations and fieldwork for construction stake-out and topographic surveys

Operate robotic total stations, GPS, and other advanced surveying equipment

Function independently as a one-person crew when necessary

Utilize field-to-finish coding to ensure accurate data collection

Coordinate with office staff to meet project deadlines and maintain quality standards

Provide clear documentation and communicate effectively with project teams

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of field experience as a Survey Crew Chief

High school diploma or equivalent required

Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Windows)

Familiarity with robotic total stations, data collectors, and GPS equipment

Certified Survey Technician (CST) is a plus

Residence near Montgomery, Prince George's, or Anne Arundel Counties preferred
