HVAC Technician

We are in search of a skilled professional who specializes in the installation, maintenance, and repair of large-scale heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems (large chillers, boilers, rooftop units, and industrial refrigeration systems) found in commercial and industrial settings. This often involves working with chillers, boilers, large air handlers, cooling towers, and specialized refrigeration units.

**Technical Knowledge:** You will need a deep understanding of advanced HVAC principles, electrical circuits, control systems, and often specific industry regulations.

**Maintenance:** Performing routine preventative maintenance to ensure systems run efficiently and to prevent breakdowns. This includes inspecting components, cleaning ducts and coils, replacing filters, checking refrigerant levels, lubricating parts, and calibrating controls.

**Troubleshooting and Repair:** Diagnosing and resolving a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues in HVAC/R systems. This requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. They repair or replace worn or defective parts like compressors, motors, sensors, and valves.

**Safety and Compliance:** Adhering to strict safety guidelines and industry regulations, especially when handling refrigerants and working with high-voltage electrical components.

**Work Environment:** You will frequently work in diverse and sometimes challenging environments such as rooftops of tall buildings (exposed to elements), mechanical rooms, factories with loud machinery, or areas with varying temperatures. You will also be on-call for emergency repairs.

**Documentation:** Keeping detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities, and preparing reports on system conditions.

**Customer Service:** Communicate with building managers, facilities managers, engineers, and business owners, explaining issues and recommending solutions.

**Teamwork:** Commercial-Industrial projects often involve working as part of a larger team with other technicians, electricians, plumbers, and engineers.
