What We're Looking For:
This role requires both field and office capabilities. While it performs predominantly field surveys in support of field crew operations, it also provides assistance with office computations, property/deed research, CAD production, and other project deliverables as necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a Sr. Crew Chief leading field operations for a variety of land surveying tasks including boundaries, topos, as-builts, construction layout, etc.
- Recognize and implement professional field standards and practices in alignment with NGS procedures.
- Work closely with the lead professional land surveyor learning and implementing best practices of the profession.
- Perform basic field and office surveying calculations.
- Manage others as necessary.
Education & Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited program or 6 years of progressive Geomatics, Surveying, or other relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Successfully passed the Fundamentals of Surveying Exam
- Valid driver's license and sufficient driving record
- Ability to perform field surveys utilizing GPS, robotic total stations, electronic data collectors, and other survey equipment
- Ability to perform quality review of survey field activities, legal descriptions, maps, calculations, and preliminary project deliverables.
- Familiarity with CAD, Trimble, UAS operations, or other survey applications is a plus
- Disciplined and self-motivated; able to work alone or with others
- Ability to work varying schedules and travel out of town
Work environment includes working outdoors and in rough terrain. Individuals will walk, sit, and stand while operation various equipment, tools, and machinery. Individuals may need to carry, push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs. Individuals may need to climb to various elevations and requires visual acuity sufficient to read alpha/numeric symbols and perform computation and design.
