Job Description:

The Plumber performs tasks related to maintaining and improving the facility mechanical systems and provides a safe, functional, and attractive environment for the campus' students, faculty, staff, administrators, and visitors. This position is deemed as essential personnel and as such employees in this position are required to be on duty during school closures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain, install, troubleshoot and repair the campus equipment. Equipment includes but not limited to boilers (steam and hot water), chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, VAV devices, pumps, hot water heaters, air compressors, motor centers, electrical panels, transformers, automatic doors, electrical actuators, vacuum pumps, fans, dehumidifiers/humidifiers, refrigeration equipment, air conditioners, kitchen equipment, lighting, generators, fire alarms, and water coolers.

Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing work and emergencies on campus.

Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures

Ensure pool, boiler, chiller, wastewater treatment plant, mechanical, plumbing, drainage systems and water inspections and maintenance are completed and logged daily

Assist with mechanical and general maintenance on campus

Remain up-to-date and informed as to current practices of job-related functions

Provide on-call and after-hours coverage

Work with campus constituents (faculty, staff, students, etc.) in a professional and customer service focused manner

Cooperate with other people within the department and other department personnel in completing assigned tasks.

Display the necessary initiative and dependability to work alone or in groups

Perform all duties in a safe and professional manner and in accordance with department policies and procedures.

Complete daily work orders. Turn in completed paperwork at the end of each shift worked.

Assist the Facilities Department in the removal of snow on campus.

Operate light or medium weight trucks and equipment to include tractors and snow removal equipment.

Ensure service slips, packing slips, and completed paperwork back to the Facilities office daily

Ensure that all work is being conducted in a safe and ethical manner. Complete daily safety inspections

Responsible for working in compliance with all OSHA, EPA, and other local, state, and federal government laws and regulations

Perform any additional duties to support Immaculata University as deemed necessary

Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

Formal plumbing vocational, technical or apprenticeship training or five years of plumbing experience

Able to read and comprehend blueprints and follow written instructions

Must have basic computer knowledge to include Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Ability to perform work in various types of weather

Deal with employees, management, and clients' guests and employees in a courteous and professional manner

Possess a valid driver's license, subject to MVR check

Ability to follow and apply safety rules and regulations for job assignments and equipment used.

Ability to use tools and equipment as required

Eighteen (18) years of age or older

Willing to be trained as required
