AEROTEK AVIATION IS HIRING FOR EXPERIENCED AIRCRAFT STRUCTURES MECHANICS FOR LONG TERM POSITIONS IN BLOOMFIELD, CT! Job Description We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic with a minimum of 2 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, riveting, and working on aircraft structures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing sheet metal fabrication, riveting, and assembling and disassembling aircraft structures, primarily focusing on Bombardier corporate aircraft. Your expertise will be instrumental in handling repairs from start to finish, including inspection, evaluation, and finding appropriate data in manuals. Responsibilities Perform sheet metal fabrication, riveting, and assembly/disassembly of aircraft structures. Handle repairs from inspection to execution, including evaluation and liaison work. Execute maintenance/repair requirements for airframe components using technical manuals and service bulletins. Provide technical information to engineers for developing repairs outside the approved data scope. Perform approved repair operations on structures including sheet metal and other structures. Overhaul mechanical assemblies, including repairs and part replacements. Document maintenance/repair actions per company and FAA requirements. Maintain a safe and clean working environment. Essential Skills Minimum of 2 years experience with aircraft structures. Expertise in riveting, drilling, reaming, fabricating, and assembling sheet metal. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings. Proficiency in structural repair. Knowledge of FAA regulations, their interpretation, and application. Intermediate computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to effectively communicate technical subject matter both orally and in writing. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team. Additional Skills & Qualifications Mentoring or a prior lead role is a plus. Must own and be skilled in the use of structures and hand tools related to the responsibilities. Well versed in the use of production and repair-related prints/drawings. Ability to read precision measuring tools and instruments. FAA Airframe certification is a plus. Why Work Here? You will have the option to work either on the first shift from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm, or the second shift, working four 10-hour days, providing a 3-day weekend every week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomfield, Connecticut. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
