They are analytical, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects, and excel at problem-solving and negotiation. They are responsible for working alongside our internal engineering project teams as well as our clients to successfully guide their future construction projects. The Preconstruction Manager will have the opportunity to establish and grow BSI's preconstruction department. Responsibilities and Scope Acts as a lead and will be collaborating with a variety of stakeholders. Communicates preconstruction plan and identifies solutions to client issues. With assistance, develops BSI Construction SOPs, training tools, and marketing materials. Supports BSI Construction Management consultants. Serves as the primary point of contact with clients, understands their needs, and represents the company professionally. Works closely with design team members to ensure smooth project execution. Leads projects and clients through the preconstruction phase of projects Performs constructability assessments; prepare reports, and reviews with stakeholders Coordinates technical data with engineering disciplines for scopes of work and design packages for preparation of requests for proposals and bids. Assists with identification of prospective contractors and suppliers. Works with procurement to prepare and distribute bid packages to subcontractors. Conducts bid-walks and scope reviews with contractors as required. Performs Bid Analysis and Issue for Client Recommendation. Responds to RFIs during the bidding process. Facilitates contractor interviews with Client. Provides consultation related to project-specific construction contracts. Supports the Cost Estimating team to prepare multi-discipline capital cost estimates ranging from feasibility and conceptual, through preliminary and detailed design for total installed cost. At times, act as a Construction Manager or Owner's Representative on site for small turnkey projects. Qualifications Preferred bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent years of experience. 5 - 10 years of experience in Construction Management, Cost Estimating, Constructability, Scheduling, and/or Bid Solicitation. Industrial process and facilities experience preferred. Project Management, Multi-discipline engineering experience is a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong experience with Excel, Microsoft Projects, and ability to read engineering drawings and design specifications. Proficient presentation, leadership, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent judgement and decision-making skills. Detail oriented, organized and manages multiple priorities. Familiar with RSMeans and AACE or equivalent. Ability and willingness to travel to job sites. OSHA 10 or 30 Safety certification is a plus.
