Heavy Equipment Operator - Construction Job Type: Full-Time | Temporary 6 month project Position Summary: The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating various types of heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and backhoes to support site preparation and construction activities. Key Responsibilities: Operate heavy equipment in a safe and productive manner according to site plans and supervisor instructions Perform pre-operational checks and basic maintenance on equipment Load, move, and grade earth, rock, gravel, and other materials Assist with site preparation, trenching, demolition, and roadwork as needed Follow safety procedures and report any hazards or incidents immediately Communicate effectively with crew members and site supervisors Requirements: Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and safe operating procedures Ability to read site plans, grades, and operate equipment accordingly Must be physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying conditions Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required Equipment certifications (if applicable) preferred (e.g., NCCER, OSHA 10/30) Preferred Equipment Experience: Excavator Bulldozer Grader Skid Steer Wheel Loader Backhoe
