The Planar Cathode Operator's primary role is to assemble mechanical components, apply and bake coatings, and perform brazing and spot-welding operations. This process requires the use of a microscope, concentration, and physical dexterity to work on small objects. Skills that may contribute to your success in this position include being able to do detailed craftwork (quilting, sewing, beading) and the ability to focus on tasks for an extended period of time (working on puzzles, crafts, etc.). The products that the Cathode Operator makes are used in life-saving products. JOB SUMMARY Will train the successful candidate in all aspects of the job. Perform all assembly operations in cathode fabrication. Inspect all in-process parts, sub-assemblies, and finished products to ensure they meet specific visual and mechanical specifications. Set up and operate various measuring devices. Work from both oral and written instructions and assist Supervision and Engineering as requested. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Obtain the proper procedures and specifications to perform and assemble cathodes or inspect a specific cathode, materials, or part. This will include retrieving and comprehending drawings and general instructions for fabrication purposes. Fabricate all types of Planar cathodes Apply ceramic coatings to parts Spot weld metal strips to cathode parts Inspect parts, sub-assemblies, and finished products as required Using mechanical and electronic measuring equipment Operate various ovens and furnaces Maintain logs and records to production standards Accurately follow supervisory and engineering directions Read, interpret, and follow work instructions Operate various electrical and mechanical equipment associated with tube assembly Clean, measure and sort various components as required Position requires wearing a lab coat and hand coverings to prevent contamination of the product. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain a clean and orderly work area Perform any other related duties Expedite tests to facilitate troubleshooting of quality or production difficulties and changes in assembly specifications Transport products, equipment, and paperwork through the facility as needed JOB QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED is preferred Good vision is required - Vision acuity tests are required as part of the assignment to this role Ability to be trained on the proficient use of the following tools and/or equipment: microscope, analytical scales, measuring tools and gauges electronic measurement equipment various hand tools Must have sufficient hand dexterity and eye-hand coordination to perform the job tasks Must be able to work with chemicals and solvents Position requires frequent standing, bending, stooping, and reaching motions Apply today at Call at ...
