Structural Welder/Fitter

We are currently recruiting for a Structal Welder/Fitter forone of the oldest suppliers of grabs, grapples, and clamshell buckets for bulk material handling. ***This position is in Slaughter, LA.*** Your main responsibility is to assemble grapples, clamshell buckets, and more by welding and fitting metal components based on blueprints. We're seeking safety-conscious, detail-oriented professionals eager to contribute to our success.

**Job Responsibilities:**

- Prioritize safety, identifying and mitigating hazards.

- Interpret blueprints and follow instructions.

- Perform precise fitting tasks.

- Weld using GMAW, Flux-Core, and stick-rod techniques.

- Use weld gauges for accuracy.

- Operate grinders, select weld wire, and prep workpieces.

- Pre-heat high-strength steel.

- Lay out, measure, align, and fit components.

- Operate gantry/jib cranes and MIG welding equipment.

- Excel in oxy-fuel torch cutting and arc-gouging.

- Utilize measuring tools and basic math.

- Operate material-handling equipment.

- Meet physical requirements (lifting, climbing, bending, etc.).

- Wear PPE and report unsafe conditions.

**Job Qualifications:**

- Trade school education or equivalent.

- 2+ years of structural welding/fitting or apprenticeship.

- Proficiency in GMAW, Flux-Core, and stick-rod welding.

- Blueprint reading skills.

- Material-handling equipment operation.

- Safety-consciousness.

- Problem-solving and attention to detail.

- Physical fitness.

- Willingness to learn new welding technologies.

- Strong communication skills.

- Background check and drug screen are required.
