Overall management of the operations of assigned projects and the administration of the Operating Group with bottom-line profit accountability.Job Description:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Assist project team in creating a properly sequenced build-able baseline schedule. Ensure that baseline schedules are realistic to scope and duration of project.
Lead and supervise project mobilization and job setup. Ensure that project is properly staffed and that they have all the tools and resources needed.
Facilitate job turn-over process from estimating to project team sign off on schedule and have a firm understanding of budget.
Ensure that scheduling procedures are followed baseline schedule, monthly updates, three week rolling schedule.
Analyze changes in work plan or sequence and correct/redirect work flow as necessary.
Lead project planning, including conducting job start meetings and planning sessions related to schedule, means and methods and craft labor.
Participate in Go/No Go decisions related to self-performing individual scopes of work.
Train site staff in proper construction procedures, techniques and sequence.
Organize, schedule and chair monthly Superintendent meetings with focus on training.
Analyze proper resource usage (overtime, crew size, equipment, etc.).
Ensure project staff is properly orchestrating the entire project team of contractors.
Support job site staff through issues with subs, unions, city departments, etc.
Maintain and ensure that the expediting/procurement plan is initiated.
Oversee superintendents management of quality control, safety, productivity and all other operational issues.
Make periodic job visits and reviews and report accurate status to Division Manager.
Monitor direct hire and general conditions costs on projects. Review with superintendents/project managers on a regular basis.
Recruit, train, mentor and oversee supervision of qualified construction personnel; superintendents as well as lead craft personnel.
Supervise the activities of project team to ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards and quality standards.
Monitor each project team members compliance with their job descriptions and responsibilities and conduct formal employee performance evaluations for field supervisory staff.
Troubleshoot schedule, delay, and liquidated damage issues as needed or assigned
Supervise and attend constructability reviews during preconstruction.
Review/update Attachment C Templates.
Attend periodic owners meetings to access client/contractor relations.
Ensure timely job closeout and closed job reports.
Assist Operations Managers with significant warranty issues.
Coordinate with training department for relative training materials and topics.
Attend proposal presentations and assist in preparation of presentation materials (schedule, budgets, charts and graphs).
Monitor quality control and assurance programs.
Troubleshoot technical issues as needed or assigned.
Complete other responsibilities as assigned
MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree or equivalent experience
Field construction experience (10 years, including supervisory skills)
Leadership ability
Problem-solving ability and strong sense of urgency
Organizational and communication skills
Drafting and computer skills
Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting
Thorough understanding of all project management control systems (scheduling, cost control, procurement and estimating)
