Description
SUMMARY
Provides design and support to Engineering projects for expansion and improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Handle design work for plant expansions and improvement, including building layout, utilities foundation, and plant utility equipment layout. Involve budget study, bid, supervise construction.
Works under broad guidance from the department head, and within J-M Company policy. Designs done according to building code and good design practices. Makes day-to-day decisions to accomplish tasks assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Two years working experience, Ability to read and work from blueprints and drawings.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Ability to use AutoCAD or Microstation. Ability to use a Windows PC and Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Project, Access, Word and Excel.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as work scope, bid package, cost evaluation, and project manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in a meeting.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
The employee will be required to travel approximately 15% of the time and be able to perform the necessary duties involved with travel such as renting and driving a car, flying to the destinations. During such travel, employees will need to be able to climb silo ladders, perform hands on electrical work typically done by an electrician and lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
