Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Provide Mercy's IT leadership with regular updates on the status of projects within the IT Project Portfolio through detailed reporting, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) that highlight progress, risks, and resource alignment
Manage assigned IT projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring timely delivery, alignment with institutional goals, and effective coordination across stakeholders
Assist project owners within IT and across the institution in identifying budget and resource requirements for proposed projects
Guide project owners through initiation activities including developing business cases, project charters and assembling project teams
Collaborate with project owners to create planning documents such as project schedules, budgets, risk assessments, communication plans, and procurement strategies
Track project execution, confirm alignment with schedules and milestones, and proactively resolve issues or delays in coordination with project owners and teams
Support the execution of communication plans and ensure adherence to acceptance criteria throughout project delivery
Oversee project closeout activities including deliverable validation, budget reconciliation, and documentation of lessons learned
Partner with IT leadership and external consultants to support the development of a PMO framework by contributing to project intake, governance standards, templates, and performance tracking tools
Promote user adoption and stakeholder engagement through structured communication and change management support throughout the project lifecycle

Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum of five years of project management experience including direct management of complex IT projects
Broad technical background working on IT projects
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and support others in leading their own
Proficient in using MS Office and Project Management Tools
Strong attention to detail skills
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills
Higher education industry experience or EdTech experience (highly preferred)
Experience using Smartsheet for project management and collaboration (preferred)
Experience supporting or contributing to the development of a Project Management Office is a plus
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification (preferred)
Additional certifications such as ITIL, Prosci Change Management, PMI-PfMP, PMI-PgMP are a plus
