Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or its equivalent AND completion of a bricklayer's apprenticeship program and four (4) years' experience as a bricklayer or
High School Diploma AND six (6) years' experience as a bricklayer.
A valid Class C Driver's License is required upon appointment.

Position Summary
Under the supervision of a supervisor and/or job foreman, bricklayers perform a variety of tasks including preparing and laying brick, concrete block and related materials using chisels, hammers, trowels and other hand tools and implements.

Duties
Prepares and lays brick, concrete block, tile, marble, and related materials.
Replaces and relays masonry or cutting stone with masonry saw.
Uses chisels, hammers, trowels, and other hand tools and implements to complete work.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of
Job site evaluation and estimation
Laying brick and stone
Standard concepts, practices, and procedures of the Bricklaying trade
Skill in
Ability to
Read blueprints, local specifications, plans, and general correspondence.
Perform general math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Work under general supervision.
Perform outdoor field construction work and be exposed to all types of weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
Work at great heights when necessary or required.
Lift more than 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently.
Demonstrate good vision and hand-eye coordination.
Physically move about a work site.
Travel to various locations within Allegheny County.
