SUMMARY

Our Municipal Services staff works with local governments from across the United States as an extension of their staff, providing municipal engineering services, on-call consulting and public works staff augmentation. We are currently seeking a Project Manager to help lead our growing Civil Plan Check team in the Corona, CA area.

The Project Manager is an experienced civil engineer that assists in winning and delivering significant projects for existing and new clients. In general, they will assist with the business development process and have significant annual sales or revenue generation expectations. By planning, executing, and delivering complex projects for key clients, the Project Manager meets customer expectations while optimizing internal resources to meet scope, fee and schedule expectations and delivering expected margin.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivers profitable projects that meet or exceed client expectations within the time and resources allocated.
  • Serves in an advisor role on specialized, complex, and/or strategic projects.
  • Proactively anticipates project issues and shows the ability to navigate complex client, political or technical issues to mitigate the impact on project delivery staff.
  • Assists with the development of scope, fee, and contract to ensure understanding of project deliverables with client staff.
  • Works closely with Group Leader/Director to oversee the technical direction and manages resources to meet or exceed the budget and schedule.
  • Participates in regular project meetings where the schedule, project plan, and client expectations are discussed to ensure delivery stays on track to meet client expectations.
  • Initiates changes in scope, addendums and change orders necessary to ensure financial performance of projects under management.
  • Directs and reviews the work of junior staff, and ensures that the firm’s quality control and quality assurance processes are followed.
  • May provide individual technical contribution to the project under management.
  • Actively and responsibly communicates with key stakeholders to meet client’s expectations.
  • Provides assistance in creating market assessments and in the development and execution of regional market strategy.
  • Participates in the proposal development and interview preparation phases to ensure the company is well-positioned to win key projects.
  • Anticipates client needs and meets the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
  • Utilizes targeted marketing efforts to identify, position and acquire new clients on behalf of the company.
  • Helps to identify the resources needed to deliver the project and provides assistance building an effective team.
  • May assign tasks and closely monitor progress against task budget and dates.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in related engineering discipline.
  • Professionally registered (P.E.) in the state in which HR Green Inc. conducts business.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional engineering design, plan review, and project administration experience, preferably in a public agency setting, is required.
  • Ability to sell work to existing clients.
  • Business development competency.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Professionally registered (P.E.) in California.
  • Has had 7-10 years professional engineering design, plan review, and project administration experience, preferably in a public agency setting
  • Has 5-10 years of increasing project management experience.
  • Ability to sell work to existing clients with some experience pursuing and winning work.
  • Has an industry reputation such that s/he is known in the consulting community for strong project skills.
  • Have excellent communication skills, previous supervisory /management experience, and outstanding conflict resolution skills.
  • Has an excellent network of team partners.

COMPENSATION RANGE

$112,200 - $176,900

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the California SB 1162. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, skills, prior work experience, competencies, and geographic work location. The total annual compensation package may consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate, after a qualifying period, in our performance and discretionary incentive bonus program(s).
