Job Purpose

Assists fabricators in fabricating products for customers. Helps in the day-to-day operation of the fabrication shop. Begins training in becoming RX fabricator.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with reasonable accommodation. The Roles responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists fabricators in the process of fabricating the product.

  • Perform basic maintenance of facility machinery.

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery.

  • Communicate with the shop lead for day-to-day workload.

  • Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.

  • Palletize products for shipping.

  • Support and assist VEMC.

  • Perform clerical duties for the shop.

  • Maintain and secure work tools.

  • Clean and maintain work area.

  • Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.

  • Begin the training process on becoming an RX fabricator.

  • Perform quality control procedures.

  • Be available for on-call after-hours services.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others, and report workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses immediately.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or a GED (General Education Degree).

  • Vo-Tech Training or equal experience in welding and fabrication.

Preferred Experience

  • Three years experience preferred, will consider other applicants.

Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge in the following areas: assembly, parts, ability to read and understand specifications, quality control, and safety.

  • Working knowledge of PVF products and basic welding functions and procedures.

  • Experience using one or more of the following tools: horizontal cut-off saw.

  • Ability to set up and operate machinery such as grinders.

  • Ability to read and interpret specifications required by the customer.

  • Ability to read and understand a standard tape measure.

  • Overhead crane and sit-down forklift experience preferred.

  • Manual dexterity is required for operating machinery and computers.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work in warehouse conditions exposed to various elements of temperature and noise. (non-climate-controlled).
