Mechanical Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a talented and driven Mechanical Engineer to join a cutting-edge robotics team focused on developing innovative hardware solutions for next-generation robotic systems. In this role, you will contribute to the design and enhancement of complex electro-mechanical systems, contributing to the advancement of automation and intelligent systems. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in mechanical engineering across multiple projects.
  • Design and develop advanced robotic vision and compute systems.
  • Lead the end-to-end development of complex electro-mechanical and optical systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to take products from concept through production, including specification, prototyping, validation, and testing.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence.
  • Partner with operations, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure smooth product launches and ongoing support.
  • Author technical documentation including specifications, test plans, and verification procedures.
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop holistic hardware solutions for evolving and ambiguous requirements.
  • Lead supplier selection and manufacturing process decisions through vendor engagement.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, with experience in part design and complex assemblies.
  • Hands-on experience building prototypes and proof-of-concept models.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application to product design.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  • Experience managing full product development lifecycles and meeting project milestones.
  • Ability to evaluate trade-offs in design, performance, and logistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with FEA tools such as SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS.
  • Background in designing and sustaining complex mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with ANSI Y-14.5 standards for documentation.
  • Experience with tooled components (e.g., injection molding, casting, stamping).
  • Knowledge of electronics packaging and sensor integration.
  • Experience in automation or robotic system design.
  • Proven track record of improving existing product performance.
  • Proficiency with PLM systems and engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Strong organizational and team collaboration skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
Work Environment

This role is based in a hands-on lab environment rather than a traditional quiet office setting. Candidates should be comfortable working in a space with moderate background noise and active equipment in use.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $135000.00/hr.
