Job Title: Construction Safety Manager
Job Description
This role involves assisting in the education and identification of High-Risk Activities (HRA) to the Lease Provider and construction contractor, monitoring Key safety Performance Indicators (KPIs), and assessing health and safety implications during project changes. The position includes improving existing construction safety management processes through active participation in various health and safety-related meetings and activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the education and identification of High-Risk Activities (HRA) to the Lease Provider and construction contractor.
- Monitor Key safety Performance Indicators (KPIs) as related to health and safety.
- Assess health & safety implications of situational and schedule changes during the project and highlight potential issues.
- Identify and monitor project Health & Safety performance data to accurately assess the project's safety status.
- Stop work and inform appropriate supervision when dangerous activities are observed.
- Participate actively in health and safety-related meetings, calls, briefings, surveys, reviews, and audits.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the site's Health & Safety planning.
- Conduct high-level reviews of Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS), safe plans of action, and lifting plans.
- Review accidents, incidents, & near-miss reporting and evaluate findings.
- Encourage and promote Health & Safety initiatives and contractor participation in structured recognition schemes.
- Report routinely to company site representative and EHS representative on activities and challenges.
- Conduct a minimum of 3 daily observations and 1 weekly site inspection report.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction Health & Safety management.
- Proven experience in construction safety management.
- Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and Local safety regulations.
- Previous data center construction and/or operations experience.
- Extensive experience in contractor communications and liaising with design teams.
- Fully IT literate with proficiency in WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, and cloud-based applications.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- OSHA - 10 & 30 certification preferred.
- NFPA 70E Training.
- Safety certification preferably CSP or CHST.
- Bilingual in English and the primary language of the assigned country.
- Formal education in construction safety or health & safety management.
- Membership in a recognized Health & Safety organization preferred.
- PMI or PMP certification preferred.
Work Environment
The role involves working in a construction environment, which requires adherence to safety protocols and regulations. Expect participation in various meetings and collaboration with diverse construction teams. The position may require compliance with specific security requirements and involves routine reporting.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
