Site Civil Engineering Project Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Site Civil Engineering Project Engineer to join our team and work alongside other talented engineers, designers, and support staff. This individual should embrace our core values of Growth, Impact, Value, Excellence, and Service (G.I.V.E.S.).

Responsibilities

  • Implement and oversee all facets of civil design.
  • Perform routine duties requiring application and knowledge of basic civil engineering principles.
  • Design and develop a wide variety of civil projects.
  • Conduct detailed calculations to establish design requirements.
  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering software (Civil 3D) to perform engineering tasks.
  • Stay updated with the latest technical innovations in engineering.
  • Support both administrative and design engineering activities as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced engineers and designers.
  • Analyze engineering sketches, specifications, and related data to determine design factors.
  • Present design ideas based on factors such as design-function relationships, serviceability, and client specifications.
  • Interface with Project Manager, Project Designers, and Clients.
  • Manage project resources and prepare engineering analysis including preliminary and final design and calculations.
  • Conduct surveys to gather field data.
  • Prepare drawings, layouts, and other visual aids using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software.
  • Develop budgets, estimate labor, and maintain project schedules.
  • Formulate realistic parameters for each project, including design elements and implementation procedures.
  • Perform Quality Control of designs for compliance with applicable codes, adopted engineering standards, and good engineering practices.
  • Prepare technical construction specifications, review and comment on shop drawing submittals, respond to RFIs, and perform field inspections as part of the construction quality assurance process.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of project experience in civil engineering.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in all major civil systems, industry-related codes, standards, and guidelines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Bluebeam.
  • Strong working knowledge of Civil3D.
  • Experience in commercial development design, grading plans, utility design, stormwater management design.
  • Knowledge in hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater pollution prevention plans, and national pollutant discharge elimination systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • EIT certification.
  • Experience in civil site design, primarily in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Ability to take on most design capabilities under a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • PE license is desired but not required.
Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to adapt to unique problems and work within a multi-disciplined team. The position involves active participation in industry-related organizations for technical and professional development. Dress code is professional attire appropriate for office and field environments.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $52.00/hr.
