Job Description

This Sales Engineer/Design Engineer role involves accurately estimating complex metal manufacturing projects, improving quoting processes, and integrating advanced techniques like machine nesting to enhance efficiency. The position demands expertise in analyzing engineering CAD and drawings, developing SOPs and WIs, and maintaining strong customer relationships. With a focus on lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, and teamwork, the role requires technical proficiency, adaptability, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Accurately estimate complex metal manufacturing projects.
• Enhance quoting processes and integrate advanced techniques like machine nesting.
• Analyze engineering CAD and drawings effectively.
• Develop SOPs and WIs to streamline operations.
• Maintain and strengthen customer relationships.
• Focus on lean manufacturing and conduct root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve common goals.

Essential Skills

• Experience in metal manufacturing.
• Understanding of materials and fabrication processes.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks with 5+ years of experience in design, particularly in sheet metal, weldment, and assembly.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and customer-facing attitude.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical engineering, AutoCAD, drafting, bill of materials, and mechanical design.
• Knowledge of new product development and design for manufacturing.
• Familiarity with technical RFQs and lean manufacturing processes.
• Experience in process improvement, lean six sigma, and manufacturing engineering.
• Experience in aerospace, nautical, or energy fabrication is a plus.

Work Environment

The position is will preferably be onsite but we are open to remote candidates with with approximately 20% travel required to locations in the US and Europe. The facility is located in Sparks, NV, and hosts a team of 60 people who are closely-knit and collaborative. The team includes three other design engineers and one other sales engineer. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.48 - $55.25/hr.
