RESPONSIBILITIES

What you'll do

  • The Facilities team has an immediate opportunity for a Lead Electrical Engineer to play an integral role in the growth and maintenance of our facility.
  • Candidates should possess direct construction experience building high-tech infrastructure and operational facilities (from industries such as semiconductor, solar, battery, etc.).
  • This is a field based position to support 24/7 manufacturing facilities located in Marshall, MI.
  • Leading and supporting electrical equipment installation, and replacements. Types of equipment involved are electrical panels, meters and software, busways, breakers, transformers, and substation equipment.
  • Develop work scope with contractors to ensure the design and construction of new electrical systems meet specifications, code and performance expectations.
  • Estimate costs, resources and time required to complete.
  • Ensures controls architecture consistency between sites. Analyze technology trends. Involvement in business planning process and long-term investment planning.
  • Perform Energy Audits,
  • Provide Energy Usage Calculations Circuit Analysis for critical load throughout the plant and circuit protection for Voltage Sag for critical loads
  • Validation, optimization and efficiency analysis for cost savings and reduction of energy throughout the plant
  • Operate equipment and program/adjust medium voltage relays and breaker settings
  • Review design plans/specifications prepared by others within electrical scope to determine compliance with design intent, reporting discrepancies, errors and omissions and utilizes this input to update standards, processes, and procedures
  • Establishes standards and specifications for installation, modification, quality control, testing, operation, inspection, and maintenance of Emergency Power Supply System (EPSS) and high voltage electrical systems according to commissioning standards, NFPA requirements, EPSS engineering principles and safety regulations
  • Apply analytical and trouble shooting skills to minimize mean time to recovery.
  • Manage short circuit analysis and arc flash ratings database.
  • Work with departments outside of facilities on planned and unplanned projects requiring electrical equipment modification to help improve production process, equipment efficiency, safety, reliability, and delivery.
  • Assure that building electrical systems meet capacity and reliability requirements
  • Determine and prioritize project tasks and develop project schedule and timelines in order to achieve project's final goals on time and within budget.
  • Generate projects' progress tracking and control documents, maintain an organized project file, present and update facility and plant management on project progress and results.
QUALIFICATIONS

You'll have

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or the equivalent
  • 8-10 years of direct construction experience building high-tech infrastructure and operational facilities (semiconductor, solar, battery, etc.)
  • Required professional registration as an Electrical Engineer in the State of California or from another state

Better you may have:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Electric utility substation and distribution system engineering, maintenance, and operations; electric utility distribution system switchgear; ability to read electric utility system drawings (one-lines, three-lines, schematics, etc.)
  • Experience in the following electric utility system analysis to perform load-flow, fault-duty, protective device coordination, and arc-flash studies
  • Well versed and significant experience in electric utility system safe work practices in accordance with the OSHA, HAZMAT safety protocols and other applicable codes and standards (IEEE C37, C57, etc.); National Electrical Code, NFPA 70E, and IEEE 1584
