and Duties Under the direction of the Supervisor of Building Trades, and the direction of the Carpenter III, the Carpenter II, erects, maintains and repairs various buildings and structures; estimates job costs, layout jobs, keeps records and write simple reports. Does incarcerated worker timekeeping and tool control. Supervises incarcerated people in rough and finish carpentry, cement work, floor and ceramic tile, and roofing. Procure(s) materials for the Carpenter Shop and maintains the equipment in the Carpenter Shop.

Maintain security, leading and supervising incarcerated people, prevents escapes and injury by those persons to themselves and others or to property. Maintains the security to working areas and work materials, inspects premises and searches incarcerated people for contraband.
