Compensation Details for Bamako Assignment:
Employees assigned to Bamako will receive a 55% pay increase for the first 40 hours worked each week. This significant boost in compensation reflects the unique opportunities and requirements of the location. Additionally, lodging and meals and incidental expenses (M&IE) per diem are included as part of the benefits package, ensuring comprehensive support for those relocating to Bamako.

Job Summary:
Amentum is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Duct Installer with an active TS/SCI clearance to support specialized HVAC projects, particularly in sensitive environments. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in installing dampers, fan coil units (FCUs), copper and PVC piping, schedule 80/40 systems, and steel piping. The role also requires proficiency in modifying duct systems onsite using bending tools, performing duct takeoffs, and installing VAVs, attenuators, and thermostats. A strong understanding of these systems, paired with the ability to troubleshoot, program, and install advanced HVAC components, is essential for success in this position. This role involves OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) work and a commitment to a 60-hour work week. Hours will be 10-hour days, Friday through Wednesday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, adjust, and maintain dampers, FCUs, VAVs, and attenuators with precision to ensure optimal system performance.
- Perform field modifications of ductwork using bending tools and the ability to manipulate, cut, and fabricate ducts to meet specifications.
- Install and connect copper, PVC, schedule 80/40 piping, and steel pipes as required for HVAC systems.
- Conduct duct takeoffs, ensuring measurements and adjustments align with on-site requirements.
- Program and install thermostats and other control systems to ensure effective operation of HVAC systems.
- Follow project specifications to install and secure HVAC components while maintaining compliance with industry standards.
- Execute quality checks on all installations to ensure durability, efficiency, and alignment with environmental and safety protocols.
- Plan and organize tasks, including compiling material lists, reviewing specifications, and identifying project needs to avoid delays.
- Work collaboratively in a high-security environment, adhering to strict confidentiality and safety guidelines while maintaining high workmanship standards.
- Apply thorough knowledge of duct installation procedures and techniques specific to secure facilities.
Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance (Required).
- Proven experience in duct installation and HVAC systems in sensitive or secure environments.
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, including copper, PVC, and steel, with proficiency in installation techniques for each.
- Skilled at manipulating ductwork in the field using bending tools and other specialized equipment.
- Ability to program and install thermostats and control components.
- Familiarity with VAV systems, dampers, fan coil units, and attenuators.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under tight schedules.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and industry standards for HVAC in secure environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with government or military HVAC projects.
- Certification in HVAC installation or ductwork fabrication.
- Experience compiling material lists, reading construction plans, and reviewing submittals for HVAC systems.
