Machine Operator (Sheet Metal)

Salary Range: $18.00-$26.00/Hourly

Position Overview:

The Machine Operator will set up and manage machines (calibration, clean, adjust speed, test, repair, etc.), feeding raw materials and parts into semi-automatic machinery. They will inspect parts for precision and catch any flaws, fixing issues as needed. The Operator will keep records of products and units. The operator will also deliver materials to job sites as needed.

What do I need?

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Prior experience as a machine operator
  • OSHA 10 Construction Industry Certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Current Driver's license (MO Class E or equivalent) and DOT Certification
  • Know how to convert fractions to decimal form
  • Knowledge of high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, etc.)
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
  • Attention to detail

Essential Functions:

  • Run Machines: They operate equipment that cuts and bends metal.
  • Read Blueprints: They understand drawings to know what to make.
  • Measure Metal: They accurately mark and measure the metal sheets.
  • Check Quality: They make sure the finished parts are perfect.
  • Fix Machines (Basic): They do simple cleaning and upkeep on their equipment.
  • Move Metal: They load raw metal and unload finished pieces.
  • Solve Small Problems: They figure out minor issues with the machines or parts.
  • Be Safe: They always follow safety rules.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to adapt to the ever-changing needs of JR & Co., Inc.

  • Valid Driver's License (MO Class E or equivalent)

Education and Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience architectural cladding/sheet metal.
  • OSHA 10 Construction Industry
  • Knowledge of commercial/ industrial building envelope applications.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Pass initial drug test
  • JR & CO Corporate Office
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
  • Ability to Set up and climb 32ft ladder at full length
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • 25% indoor work and 75% outdoor work.
