Responsible to contribute to the Engineering Team by ensuring products are functional, maintaining concept, drawing, and design documentation, and developing and completing assigned project and other assignments. The individual in the position will also develop new ideas and designs, as well as improvements to current products. This is an advanced-level engineering position.

**Job Responsibilities:**

- Apply electrical engineering knowledge to the investigation and development of new technologies, ideas and designs for new products, and improvements to existing products, in accordance with Trijicon's Quality Operating and Product Development Systems

- Complete difficult or complex tasks on-time with minimal supervision or assistance, when required

- Development of project objectives, schedules, and specifications

- Confirm product performance; maintain schedule, design file database, and safe and clean working environment; control costs

- Develop improvements to existing products per customer request

- Solve difficult and complex electrical engineering problems at the component, sub-system, and full system level

- Support Project Management initiatives and meetings from Design Specification through to product launch

- Design, debug, and test advanced embedded electronic systems

- Communicate challenges and successes effectively within the department through design reviews and interdepartmentally through status reviews and milestone meetings

- Design of low voltage, low current DC systems

- Perform complex digital and analog SMD PCB design, layout, and packaging of robust electronic systems

- Microcontroller system design, development, and programming

- System design / control of micro displays

- System design of LED control circuitry

- Maintain knowledge of LED technology and trends

- PWM system controls design

- Interface, oversee, and collaborate with external electronic system design vendors and contract manufacturers

- Drive projects from hardware and toolchain selection through customer support and maintenance

- Collaborate with other engineering groups and disciplines within the department, as well as other departments and outside vendors and customers

- Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, drawings, and processes

- Maintain current knowledge of competitive technologies related to company products and the electrical engineering discipline, as well as adjacent industries or disciplines

- Utilize advanced engineering tools such as finite element analysis, design of experiments, statistical process control, and FMEA's to shorten product development times

- Generate written protocols and reports

- Contribute to the intellectual property position of the company

- Ensure products are functional, ergonomic, and aesthetically pleasing

- Ensure all ISO paperwork is complete at each project milestone

- Perform other similar tasks as assigned

**Job Requirements:**

Experience with FPGA and NXP microcontroller architectures preferred

Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings or blueprints

Experience with 3D CAD modeling using PTC Creo or similar

Ability to generate and maintain Gerber files

Proficiency with high-speed circuit design and multilayer PCB layout using Altium or similar

Analog circuit analysis proficiency using SPICE or similar

Experience with EMC design, test, and remediation

Basic Microsoft Windows / Microsoft Office

Use measuring and lab equipment such as caliper, multi-meter, oscilloscope, emulators, etc.
