Job Description
THIS IS A SEASONAL POSITION. THE APPOINTMENT WILL TYPICALLY START IN APRIL AND END IN DECEMBER EACH YEAR.
Position will work full-time hours during the seasonal assignment.
This position performs all duties required in the daily operation, inspection, and maintenance of a movable bridge including all emergency procedures necessary to operate the bridge in a safe and efficient manner for vehicular, pedestrian, and waterway traffic. This position will work at the Portage Lake Lift Bridge in Houghton, MI from early-April until mid-December.
DART This position is considered safety sensitive due to the operation of the lift bridge and will be DART (Drug and Alcohol Random Tested) Designated.
The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate at the entry(6)level through the maximum rate at the experienced(E8)level. Based on education and experience, candidates will be reviewed to determine what level they are qualified for.
