Job Description

Our Stationary Equipment Manager is a critical role responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operation of all stationary equipment within the airport. This position involves managing a team of technicians and coordinating with other departments to ensure that all stationary equipment, such as conveyor belts, escalators, and HVAC systems, are functioning efficiently and safely. The manager is also tasked with developing maintenance schedules, managing budgets for repairs and upgrades, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Strong leadership and technical skills are essential as the manager must effectively troubleshoot issues, optimize equipment performance, and implement continuous improvement strategies. Additionally, you will be responsible for training staff on new technologies and safety protocols to maintain a high standard of service within the airport.

WHAT ITS LIKE TO WORK AS A STATIONARY EQUIPMENT MANAGER

Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of stationary equipment used in airport facilities, including baggage handling systems, conveyor belts, HVAC systems, and more

Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure the reliability and longevity of stationary equipment

Manage a team of stationary equipment technicians, providing leadership, training, and guidance to ensure efficient and high-quality maintenance work

Collaborate with airport management to prioritize equipment maintenance based on operational needs and safety requirements

Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance schedules, work orders, and repair histories to track performance and compliance with industry standards

Conduct regular inspections of stationary equipment to identify issues, defects, or signs of wear and tear, taking prompt corrective actions

You have a great attention to detail

You enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasks

Strong customer service skills

Like to build long term relationships with your customers

Physical activity may include:

Stand and walk for extended periods of time

Ability to lift 70 pounds or more

Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment

Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

Qualifications

Minimum age of 18 years old

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents

Minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment maintenance and management

Proven leadership and team management experience

Strong technical knowledge of stationary equipment and systems

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards

Effective communication and organizational abilities

Flexibility to work in various shifts, including weekends and holidays

Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tablets

Ability to pass a drug screen

Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
