Position Overview:
As an Electrician, your expertise will keep the aluminum recycling plant running smoothly. From maintaining electrical and mechanical systems to troubleshooting complex issues, youll play a key role in ensuring equipment functions optimally, minimizing downtime, and maximizing productivity. Youll collaborate with production teams, ensuring safety standards and operational goals are always met.

Compensation and Benefits:
The expected starting hourly range for this position is between $27.59 to $45.95 . Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and position responsibility.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring equipment runs smoothly.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical components, motor controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other machinery.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and ensure safe operation of all plant equipment.
  • Conduct routine safety checks and maintain accurate service records.
  • Collaborate with the production team to keep work areas clean and safe.

Education/Experience/Skills:
Required:

  • 5+ years of electrical maintenance and PLC troubleshooting experience in an industrial environment.
  • MN electrical maintenance license or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, including motor controls, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision, but also be a team player.
  • Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer proficiency (MS Office).
  • Ability to lift/move up to 35 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, physical exam, and drug screening.
  • Valid Drivers License.

Preferred:

  • AS in Electronics or related technical field.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC, PLC 5, Slick 500, or ControlLogix.
  • Military electronics training is a plus.
  • Experience with HVAC, furnaces, or boiler electrical systems.
  • Automation and robotics experience is a bonus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift/move up to 35 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally (team lift).
  • Comfort with working in industrial environments with heavy machinery.

Must have the ability to understand and follow written and oral work instructions, operations, safety procedures, and hazardous labels.
