Construction Administrator
BL Companies is growing and currently seeking a Construction Administrator to join our team in our Meriden office. This role supports our Architecture and MEP departments, working closely to ensure quality, coordination, and clear communication throughout the construction phase.
The Construction Administrator will participate in client meetings, project presentations, field walkthroughs, and evaluation reviews. Occasional travel to job sites and other BL office locations will be required.
Responsibilities Include:
Perform on site evaluation of architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical systems as part of condition evaluation reviews, existing condition surveys or punch-list walkthroughs
Perform Quality Control reviews of in-house Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Designs
Serve as the liaison between the Design Team and the Owner/Contractor during the Construction Phase of in-house designs
Administer Contractors AIA Contracts on behalf of clients
Help to facilitate the response to Contractor Requests for Information (RFI) and Submittals
Review contractor submittals for select architectural systems and components
Required Experience:
5+ years experience in the design (architectural), construction management or construction administration field.
Degree in in Construction Management or Architecture (preferred).
Possess knowledge of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical design, systems and components.
Ability to travel 25-50%
Knowledge of CAD or REVIT is a plus
Good writing and communication skills
Knowledge of Bluebeam, Procore, MSWord, MS Excel helpful
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously
