UI/UX Design Consultant

System One is seeking a senior-level UI/UX Designer for a large client in the Spring/Houston, TX, area. The ideal candidate will have at least 7-10 years' experience working in UI/UX Design, in addition to experience in creating wireframes, prototyping, and designing graphic elements. JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities and Duties

• Creating wireframes: Creating low-fidelity and high-fidelity mockups that show the structure and layout of product screens
• Prototyping: Creating prototypes to visualize designs before development
• Designing graphic elements: Creating menus, tabs, and other UI elements
• Developing navigation components: Building navigation for the product
• Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
• Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and business SMEs
• Prepare and present draft to internal teams and key stakeholders
• Adjust designs based on user feedback and maturity of value delivery
• Identify and troubleshoot UX problems and pain points (e.g., responsiveness, friction, hidden value)

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role (7+ years)
• Expert level experience with design and wireframe tools (e.g., Adobe XD, Figma, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, etc.)
• Portfolio of design projects
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Leverage active listening skills and client empathy to affect design ideas and product improvements
• Team player who thrives in matrixed organizations and with various stakeholders at all levels
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Bachelor's degree in technology related field (e.g., Graphic Design, Product Design, Marketing, Human-Computer Interaction, etc.) or equivalent experience

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Experience in using Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Jira Product Discovery)
• Foundational knowledge of Product Development and Management
• Experience in Agile Development (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
• Certifications: Certified Professional in User Interface Design (CPUX-UID), Certified Usability Analyst (CUA), Certified User Experience Analyst (CXA), Adobe Certified Professional, Figma UI/UX Design Essentials
