Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $23.37 - Midpoint: $29.23 (Hourly N7)
Department/Organization: 504106 - Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm; some shift work & extended hours
Note to Applicants: This is a department only search. You must be a current UA employee working in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Department to be considered.
Job Summary: The HVAC Mechanic II performs skilled work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of all types of refrigeration, cooling and heating equipment, and refrigeration, cooling, ventilating, and heating equipment within assigned area. Acts as lead worker. Trains and supervises entry-level Mechanics. Interprets plans and blueprints. Drives from site to site.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of HVAC experience. EPA Section 608 HVAC Universal Certification. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have EPA approved Universal Refrigerant Certification.
Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to lift, handle and maneuver the tools, materials, and supplies of the job. Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot blueprints, drawings, manuals, maps, schematics, and plans and do material takeoffs. Good people skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Good written and verbal communications skills.
