Fabrication Operator - 2nd Shift

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Fabrication Operator A fabricates steel frames and parts for boat trailers. The position will be cross trained on all equipment including presses, drills, saws, plasma cutters, rail benders, cranes, and various hand tools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Follows daily schedules and produces required parts.

  • Reads drawings and schematics to determine correct specifications of trailer parts.

  • Operates machinery including presses, drills, saws, plasma cutters, rail benders, cranes, and various hand tools - Operator will have primary workstations but will be cross trained in as many areas as possible.

  • Lifts and transports trailer rails and parts up to 50 lbs.

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Ability to read blueprints and specifications

  • Ability to read tape measure

  • Basic math skills

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Will be required to pass pulmonary function and fit test if wearing a respirator

  • Responsible for wearing PPE at all times based on the requirements of the job position

  • Extreme noise, intermittent

  • Dust

  • Fumes, smoke, or gasses

  • Solvents (degreasing agents)

  • Slippery or uneven walking surfaces

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

  • Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
