About This Role:
Parks recently updated its strategic vision and incorporated Prince William Countys Strategic Vision into action plans. The Planning & Capital Projects Division manages capital maintenance projects, larger building facility projects, and capital improvement plan projects. The position requires a candidate that will successfully perform difficult professional work primarily involving site and facility design of park projects. Work involves a wide variety of complex projects that require independent planning of work details for completion of special projects.
Primary duties include performing advanced level professional work developing plans and construction drawings for the development and maintenance of park construction projects in accordance with the Countys overall Comprehensive Plan and Design and Construction Manual; managing complex design and construction projects from inception to project close out with a high degree of autonomy.
The professional best suited for this expert-level position will be naturally inclined to be a strong advocate for passive and active recreation, and cultural and natural resource protection. Minimum Requirements:
This position requires a bachelors degree in engineering and 3 years of related experience, defined as professional project and construction management experience in developing/use of parks and open space.
Preferences:
Professional Engineer certification with experience in managing capital projects.
5+ years of experience.
Experience working for an accredited agency.
Experience reviewing site plans and construction documents.
Experience planning and developing trail corridors.
Special Requirements:
Must have a valid drivers license and safe driving record.
Must pass local, state and federal background check.
Work Schedule:
Regular work schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. This is a telework eligible role that may revert to in-office scheduling if business needs change.
Hiring Salary Range : $95,492.10/yr. - $112,343.64/yr.
Hiring Bonus: this position qualifies for a one-time hiring bonus of $3,000 paid in two installments and will be subject to all applicable tax withholding and reporting requirements. The first installment is payable upon the Countys first regular pay date following your position start date. The second installment will be payable on the pay date following the completion of your probationary period.
