Marine Electrician**
**Job Description**
As a Marine Electrician, you will be responsible for reading, interpreting, and applying drawings and specifications to determine installation requirements. You will need a strong working knowledge of electrical trade mathematics and formulas to calculate voltage, amperes, and resistance requirements. This role involves determining the size and types of materials such as controls, switches, distribution panels, fuses, cables, and conduit sizes, and using electronic measuring devices such as voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters.
**Responsibilities**
+ Read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
+ Apply knowledge of electrical trade mathematics and formulas.
+ Calculate voltage, amperes, and resistance requirements.
+ Determine size and types of materials needed for installations.
+ Install controls, switches, distribution panels, fuses, cables, and conduits.
+ Use electronic measuring devices such as voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
+ Strong understanding of electrical trade mathematics and formulas.
+ Experience with electronic measuring devices including voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters.
+ Ability to calculate voltage, amperes, and resistance requirements.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in marine electrical installations and troubleshooting.
+ Familiarity with connectors and wiring specific to marine environments.

The position is based in a shipyard environment, both outdoors and in shop settings, including working on ships. The role requires wearing personal protective equipment, such as a hard hat and safety glasses, with steel-toed boots being mandatory.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
