The Hartford is looking for a Business Information Architect to join our Corporate Finance IT team. This position is responsible for providing strategic direction and business solutions to support Corporate Finance operations, including Treasury, Strategic Sourcing, Real Estate, Tax, and Accounting Controls within The Hartford.
The Business Architect supplements the business vision with desired capabilities (Epics/Features) and maintains the long-term capabilities roadmap aligned to the business strategy. Our ideal candidate will partner with the business to understand the overarching vision and strategy, advise and propose solutions, then facilitate and consult on the implementation and delivery phases in collaboration with the Corporate Finance IT organization
You will work closely with technology colleagues, product owners, product managers & business leaders leveraging both Agile & Kanban processes to evolve and mature the Corporate Finance IT organization. The role will require building strong relationships with both business and technology colleagues.
This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office location (Hartford, CT and Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Responsibilities:
- Consult, guide, influence with business partners and IT teams to provide Finance based expertise around data, business process, technology, and usage of information.
- Create technology strategy and 3-5 year road map that aligns to Corporate Finance's vision, goals and objectives driving direction, gaining consensus, and increase understanding from stakeholders.
- Partner with cross-functional business leads & IT partners to drive Data Strategy & Business Architecture delivery within Scope, Cost, Schedule, and Quality. Ability to translate business strategies into scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures leveraging AWS & Google cloud technologies. Demonstrated ability to identify and prioritize Corporate Finance's GenAI use cases that align with enterprise transformation goals, ensuring measurable business value and operational efficiency.
- Proven experience in facilitating collaboration between business, data, and technology teams to co-develop GenAI-enabled solutions, while driving adoption through structured change management and stakeholder engagement.
- Provide definition of a desired future state with roadmap illustrating progress against three horizons (immediate, short-term, long-term).
Promote a culture of Corporate Finance ownership to transform data into a strategic asset
- Proactively manage the end-to-end analysis, delivery and execution that enable business value generation.
- Exhibit courageous leadership and a bias for action, driving the right data solutions through influencing and challenging colleagues to think differently.
- Lead focus groups and voice of customer interviews.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.
5+ years of experience working as a Business Information Architect or in a related position.
Bachelor's Degree. Concentration in the areas of Accounting or Finance is a plus.
- Knowledge of Corporate Finance business process is must.
- Experience with implementation/design of enterprise systems and processes supporting corporate finance functions such as ERP, Accounting Ledger, Expense, Treasury, Disbursements, Procurement, Financial Reporting. Insurance industry experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge in leveraging various cloud services (AWS or Google Cloud) towards solving business problems
- Strong knowledge of business information architecture frameworks, concepts, emerging trends, and best practices.
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills that support the ability to provide options and assess solutions to support consumers.
- Strong written and verbal communication to interact effectively with both technical and nontechnical users at all levels of the organization
- Good practical knowledge of leveraging Agile & Kanban Methodologies towards business deliverables
- Ability to profile and analyze data, develop scorecards
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$144,880 - $217,320
