Prefabrication Apprentice Plumber

An Apprentice Plumber is becoming a skilled professional with both classroom learning and on-the-job training. This position will be in our Plumbing Prefabrication department. Do you have Apprentice credits from somewhere else? They may transfer to our certified NCCER program. Classes begin in August 2025, but you will start working immediately.

Your main Tasks:

• To work safely no matter what. Safety is our highest priority.
• Learn to lay out and build commercial plumbing equipment for a wide variety of plumbing projects.
• Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angles.
• Build and install hangers to hold material in place.
• Work in an unconditioned, covered shop environment with other plumbers.
• Learn to use a variety of power & hand tools.
• Complete classes online, and at-home study with skills and textbook learning.

Experience or Certification needed:

• A High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience using hand tools and a tape measure is a plus.

You need to be able to:

• Keep it a Drug-free Workplace.
• Be punctual and reliable.
• Be teachable and want to learn.
• Work as a team.
• Do Basic "Tape measure math".
• Work in an unconditioned shop environment.
• Stand and walk throughout the workday, and lift/carry up to 60 lbs.
• Work reaching above shoulders, crawling, squatting, kneeling, bending.
• Exercise fine motor control, with good vision and excellent hand-eye coordination.
